Project Summary: Replacement of current boilers with high-efficiency ones. The project objective is to reduce energy consumption and CO₂ emission.
Year of implementation: 2017

Status before implementation

The factory was using:

  • 2 boilers with a total design capacity of 7 tons/hour
  • Input fuel was firewood and cashew residue
  • The 2 firewood boilers’ efficiency was about 70%.

The company expected to expand the production lines, so the required steam capacity should be 10 tons of steam/hour.

Result

The company has invested in:

  • 1 boiler with a capacity of 10 tons of steam/hour
  • The input fuel is firewood
  • The new boiler is equipped with an additional feedwater heater to improve the efficiency. The new boiler’s efficiency is 83.7%.

The new firewood boiler has a capacity of 10 tons of steam/hour
